Las Piñas City Mayor Imelda Aguilar appealed to all lessors of commercial establishments in the city to waive the corresponding rental fees of lessees for at least one month while the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) is still in effect to avoid the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID19).
Aguilar told lessors of commercial establishments that their support and cooperation will ease the burden of the lessees, and that she will remember their generosity to the people of Las Piñas.
Aguilar also announced that the contractual and and job order employees of the city government will continue to receive their salaries.
She said the city will heed Malacañang’s recent circular ordering the suspension of the no-work-no-pay policy.
In an interview, city Public Information Office chief Jimi Castillano said that the distribution of relief packs to city residents continues.
Castillano said Aguilar ordered the city’s 20 barangay captains to strictly impose the home quarantine of residents under their jurisdiction and to deliver the relief packs to residents’ homes.
He added that Aguilar was thankful to the barangay captains for their effort in having their tanods roam around their jurisdictions with public address systems, telling the community to stay indoors and observe the 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. curfew hour.
