At least 14 police generals have been given new positions in the latest reorganization in the Philippine National Police (PNP).

PNP chief Gen. Archie Gamboa said the revamp was aimed at further improving the police services by bringing in a fresh set of police officials with new ideas on various aspects of policing.
The reorganization took effect on Thursday.
Brig. Gen. Manuel Abu was designated the new director of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region, replacing Brig. Gen. Marni Marcos who was named acting Director for Comptrollership.
Marcos replaced Maj. Gen. Jose Maria Victor Ramos who is still in the hospital for injuries he suffered in a March 5 helicopter crash in Laguna.
Brig. Gen. Ferdinand Divina was appointed the acting Director for Intelligence along with Brig. Gen. Edgar Monsalve as his deputy director. Divina replaced Maj. Gen. Mariel Magaway who was also injured in the chopper crash.
Brig. Gen. Bernabe Balba was named director of the Eastern Visayas regional police. Balba was replaced by Brig. Gen. Rolando Miranda as the new District Director of the Manila Police District.
Brig. Gen. Alexander Sampaga was named the director of the Headquarters Support Service while Col. Patrick Villacorte took the helm as the acting Deputy Regional Director for Administration of Police Regional Office 6.
Also designated to a new post was Police Brig.Gen. Jesus Cambay Jr. as the Director of the PNP Intelligence Group.
In addition, the PNP National Operations Center will have a new chief, Brig. Gen. Danilo Macerin, while Brig. Gen. Florencio Ortilla is now the new Chief, Regional Staff of the National Capital Region Police Office.
Other officials given new posts were:
Brig. Gen. General Robert Rodriguez, deputy director for Personnel and Records Management; Brig. Gen. Valeriano De Leon, deputy director for Human Resource Doctrine and Development; Brig. Gen. Joselito Pajarillaga, deputy director for Integrated Police Operations - Northern Luzon; Brig. Gen. Adolfo Samala Jr., deputy director for Plans; Col. Belli Tamayo, acting Executive Officer, DPRM; Col. Nickson Muksan, acting Executive Officer, DIPO – Visayas; and, Col. Angeles Geñorga, Jr., acting deputy director, PNP Training Service.
