The Parañaque City government has placed the city under a state of calamity to address the needs of city residents amid events related to the community quarantine over the national capital region.
In an interview, Public Information chief Mar Jimenez said the declaration of a state of calamity was made upon the recommendation of the City Disaster and Risk Management Office that was immediately approved by the city council in their special session held last Sunday and signed by Mayor Edwin Olivarez.
Jimenez said Olivarez also approved the immediate creation of a City Curfew Hour Task Force that will implement curfew hours from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting March 16 to April 14.
He said those exempted from the curfew hour set by the city government were medical and hospital staff and persons filing complaints or reports to barangay or police authorities.
The PIO chief added that those working under shifting hours such as night shift or graveyard shift must present their company ID supported by a certificate of employment stating the shifting hours.
