The ban started on March 14 and will be in effect until April 14, the Department of Interior Local Government (DILG) said.
DILG said the ban on "sabong" is pursuant to the Department of Health's guidelines encouraging the public to avoid "unprotected contact with farm or wild animals."
The DILG said its order is also consistent with DOH's advisory which strongly urges the public "to avoid attending, participating in, and organizing events that draw a huge number of attendees."
"All Local Chief Executives are to work with law enforcement agencies for the strict implementation of this directive," the DILG said.
"The DILG Regional Directors and the BARMM Chief Minister for local governments are directed to cause the widest dissemination of this advisory," it added.
