Two schools in Albay suspend classes due to COVID-19

By Niño Luces  LEGAZPI CITY, Albay – St. Agnes Academy and Genecom Institute of Technology (GIT), all private schools located in this city have suspended their classes from March 13, as a precautionary measure against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). In an advisory issued by St. Agnes Academy to parents, classes will be suspended from March 13 to March 25. Classes will resume on March 26, 2020. All activities are also canceled on those days, while other related educational activities are also canceled. Last Monday, Grades rade 11 and 12 students of St. Agnes Academy went on educational tour in Metro Manila and among those they visited was Senator Win Gatchalian. The school allegedly ordered the students to follow protocols and be quarantined. The Genecom Institute of Technology has ended classes since March 13. GIT said that last day of regular class is on March 13, 2020 to reduce exposure and heightened precautions. All related compliance such as submission of projects, special examinations, signing of clearance and other related matters shall be done on appointment with the teachers concerned. “Everyone is advised to avoid crowded spaces and observe proper hand washing and sanitation as our contribution to lessening the probability of virus contraction and local transmission. We ask for your understanding and cooperation for the safety and well-being of everyone. Let’s pray for one another and hope that together, we can win against this virus. Stay safe everyone,” the advisory said.
