The event was initiated by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), headed by its PSWD Officer Ma. Rosela Taraya, to raise funds for their program, which includes the Provincial Shelter for Abused Women and Children, or more commonly known as “Happy Home”.
According to Taraya, the proceeds of the charity walk will go to the psychological services for their clients, such as the availability of an expert who can perform psychological evaluation of the abused victims and other concerns.
In her message, Acting Governor Shirley Abundo empowered her fellow women in service.
According to her, she sees it as a challenge every time she sits as the acting governor of the province, and she has to be strong because many women look up on her.
