IMUS CITY, Cavite – The Cavite Provincial Oversight Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs has declared five of 97 barangays (villages) in this capital city as "drug cleared."
Lieutenant Colonel Vicente O. Amante, Imus police chief, confirmed this as he said that he and the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) and the City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC) are eyeing six more barangays in the turf to be recommended in the "drug-cleared" list of the Provincial Oversight Committee.
"Maganda ang pruweba ng anim pa na barangay sa Imus na puwede na isali sa Oversight Committee's Barangay Drug Clearing list," Amante said. (The proofs of the six villages are good and they can be well included in the Oversight Committee's Barangay Drug Clearing list,)
Amante did not name and elaborated on the six barangays but sources said that two namely Toclong I-B and Poblacion IV-A are the likely "candidates."
Among those confirmed by Amante in the Provincial Barangay Drug Cleared list were Poblacion I-C, Poblacion III-A, Espeleta II, Bagong Silang, and Tanzang Luma VI.
Poblacion I-C under Hilario "Ayie" Constantino has been declared drug-cleared since 2017. Constantino has received citations and certificates for the feats.
