Two alleged illegal recruiters were arrested by the police in Pasay City on Monday night following a complaint from an agency owner.
The two were identified by authorities as April Danica De Jesus, 23; and Evangerose Bofill, 24; both residents of Cavite Street, Tondo, Manila.
The suspects were arrested at around 8 p.m. at Gamban Street, Brgy. 136, Pasay City based on the complaint of Mary Mei Rodrigo, Merry Joy Gomez, Lindy Tiro, and Ana Lou Quezon.
Police said that the suspects told the complainants Gomez, Tiro, and Quezon that they could send them abroad to work as domestic helpers The three informed Rodrigo, the agency owner of Mother’s Way Overseas Manpower Specialist Corporation about the offer of the two suspects.
They requested assistance from barangay tanods who turned them over to the Pasay City Police.
The suspects are facing charges of violating RA 10022, the Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipinos Act of 1995.
