DOTr provides option to take driver's license exam in the local language

Under Department Order 2020-003, Tugade said that the DOTr recognizes the "need to afford examinees the opportunity to fully comprehend the Driver's License Examination." "Ang pananaw namin diyan, 'yung mga nag-eexam baka hindi gamay 'yung English at Tagalog kaya ilalagay natin sa mga local dialects and local languages," the DOTr secretary added. (Our view is that the examinees may not be fluent in English and Tagalog so we will translate them into local dialects and local languages.) Regional directors of the LTO are mandated to provide a translation of the Driver's License Examination in their respective regional language within 30 days from the effectivity of the Order. The department order shall take effect 15 days following the publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.
