JoyRide to go into food delivery service

By Alexandria San Juan New bike-firm JoyRide said that it is planning to enter the food delivery industry this year, apart from its motorcycle taxi service, to generate economic opportunities for merchants and delivery-partners in the country. JoyRide Vice President for Corporate Affairs Noli Eala said the company already started the pilot testing of its food delivery service since December last year and is now taking steps to further improve the system. Since we have an overwhelming pool of bikers, it is really inevitable to venture into this business. We also wanted to provide more livelihood opportunities for the Filipino people," Eala said in a statement. Apart from the growth for its motorcycle hailing app service observed by the firm in the past two months, Eala added that they also want to help not only restaurants to skip costs for food delivery, but also micro-entrepreneurs for them to grow their business. "Food is the most popular product in the delivery service industry. JoyRide hopes to deliver a positive impact into the lives of the people by providing them economic opportunities especially for local businesses and to create jobs for delivery-partners," he said. Once the service started, JoyRide will be competing with other established food delivery companies in the country such as Foodpanda, GrabFood, and LalaFood. Apart from its plan of having a food delivery service platform, JoyRide said that it would also introduce various features of their app that can "cater to all kinds of customers."
