Brgy chairperson, councilor wounded in Isabela stabbing incident

A barangay chairman and a councilor were wounded in a stabbing incident that involved a group of knife-wielding men in Barangay District 1 in San Manuel, Isabela.
A report from Police Regional Office (PRO) 2 said that on February 22 at 10 p.m., the victims identified as barangay chair Ronald Mendoza, 44, and Temestocle Santos Jr., 49, were going home after having some drinks at the Side by Side Videoke Bar when their path was blocked by the suspects. Both were residents of Barangay Babanuang in San Manuel, Isabela.
The victims alighted from their vehicle to confront the suspects, who proceeded to maul and stab them.
A certain Ronald Tagle of Ballesteros, Aurora, Isabela was identified suspect who stabbed the victims, according to PSSG Nolito I Orani, investigator on case.
"Hindi na napigilan ni Ronald ang grupo ni SB at kapitan kaya dinaan na ito sa pananaksak,” the investigator told Manila Bulletin.
