SMB couldn’t afford to lose one of its main players, especially with June Mar Fajardo set to miss at least the whole duration of the PBA Philippine Cup due to a fractured right tibia. Marcio Lassiter missed all three games of the pocket tournament after fracturing his nose in a tune-up against Rain or Shine last week. Lassiter, however, is likely to play in SMB’s season-opening match against Magnolia on March 8 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum while wearing a mask.
