The CJFI was conferred the Best NGO Award during the Pagkilala sa Natatanging Kontribusyon sa Bayan (PaNata Ko sa Bayan) Awards last Jan. 28 at the DSWD central office in Quezon City.
This was in line with the department’s 69th founding anniversary, highlighting social integration as its major thrust in line with the Philippine Development Plan 2017-2022.
The foundation is the charity arm of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, founded by evangelist Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.
Former CJFI executive Rosemarie Navallo-Dimagnaong received the award on behalf of Quiboloy from DSWD Secretary Rolando Joselito Bautista.
The CJFI started in June 1998 when its first residential care home for children was established in Davao City.
Since then, the foundation has been in service of underprivileged, abandoned, and neglected children in the Philippines and in some parts of the world.
The CJFI also aims to give every child the opportunity to have a good life to help them become responsible and productive individuals in the community.
In a message, Quiboloy acknowledged the efforts of all CJFI volunteers after the foundation was given the recognition.
“I thank the Father for the government, through DSWD recognizing our efforts to help, and I think this will also propel us to do more for the children of the Philippines,” he said. (Raymund F. Antonio)
