P10.1M worth of shabu seized in Malabon drug bust Police on Wednesday morning seized a total of P10.1 million worth of suspected shabu from four alleged drug personalities, including a student, in Malabon City. Col. Jessie Tamayao, Malabon police chief, identified the suspects as Remel de Jesus, 29; Jhay Camposano, 31; Rizza Mae Pabon, 20; and Jufirst Soguilon, 26, third year college student at a university in the city. Brig. Gen. Ronaldo Ylagan, Northern Police District director, said de Jesus and Camposano were already previously arrested for drug charges. They were released after posting bail. Tamayao said that the drug bust was conducted at the corner of P. Aquino and Dr. Lascano streets in Barangay Tugatog around 4 a.m., "where the suspects and the poseur buyer agreed to meet." "Inabot ng Remel, yung nasa harapan 'yung drugs sa ating poseur buyer," Tamayao said. "Apat sila na nasa loob ng sasakyan. Nasa plastic ," he added. After the consummation of the transaction, the four were immediately arrested. Police seized 11 small and large-sized plastic sachets containing suspected shabu inside the suspects' car and one Chinese green tea pack also containing the same substance in possession of de Jesus. The suspected illegal drugs had a total weight of 1.48 kilos. Authorities also recovered a Nissan X-Trail with plate number RHH 597, which the suspects used as their vehicle. De Jesus said that he owned the drugs but said that he was just asked to deliver them. Tamayao said that the four might be connected with bigger syndicate and delivering drugs to pushers in Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas and Valenzuela areas. "'Yung ganoon kalaking drugs, masyadong malaki yung hawak nila, meaning to say, hindi 'to maliitang grupo," he said. The four would face charges for violation of sections 5 and 11 of Article 2 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, police said. (Joseph Almer Pedrajas) Couple nabbed for drug peddling, gunrunning in Pinagbuhatan, Pasig A couple considered as high-value drug suspects and who are also alleged gunrunners were apprehended by policemen and seized almost P200, 000 worth of shabu in Pasig City recently, a police report said. Police identified the suspects as Amirah Karim, 32, and her live-in partner Jomar Cabarrubias, 26. Both are residents of Barangay Pinagbuhatan, Pasig. On Monday, members of the Eastern Police District-District Special Operations Unit (EPD-DSOU) led by their chief, Major Darwin Guerrero, conducted a buy-bust at the couple's house located along Esguerra St. in Barangay Pinagbuhatan, Pasig around 12: 45 p.m. An undercover policeman posed as a gun buyer and went to the house of the suspects to transact with them. After accepting the marked money from him, other policemen barged into the house and arrested the couple. According to Guerrero, they conducted surveillance in the area for a week before they conducted the operation. It was learned that Karim still has a pending illegal drug case. Police said that Karim and Carrubias are high-value targets on the regional level. Cops seized a .38 caliber revolver and three sachets containing "shabu" that weigh 27 grams and has an estimated street value of P183, 600.
