In an interview with DZMM radio Monday, overseas Filipino worker Dhel Tanaga said she does not want to risk the possibility of carrying the virus to the Philippines.
(If it was up to me, since I'm at the epicenter of the virus, and I'm near where the virus originated, I think it's better for us Filipinos not to go home to the Philippines, because we don't know if we're already carrying the virus in our bodies.)
(I don't want to return to the Philippines and bring the virus. It's better that I acquire the virus, rather bring it to the Philippines, because it would be very difficult if the virus spreads in the Philippines.)
Tanaga said other Filipinos in Wuhan share her sentiments, and prefer to stay in the city. (They don't want to go home because they don't want to bring the virus with them.)
Tanaga, meanwhile, said Filipinos in Wuhan are well amid the threat of the 2019 nCoV ARD.
"Okay lang kami dito, walang infected sa virus, lahat po kaming Filipino is okay po dito," she said. (We're okay here, no one is infected by the virus, all of us Filipinos are okay here.)
