Huawei has revealed the new Huawei MateBook D15, Huawei’s foray into affordable laptops.
The specs of the unit we received for the MB TechLab includes: AMD Ryzen 5 3500U for CPU, AMD Radeon Vega 8 for GPU, 8 gigs of RAM, and 256GB SSD plus 1TB HDD.
That’s a specs sheet for users who need a laptop for simpler computing needs, such as students, who may want to bring their laptops to school, or for young professionals who wouldn’t need to use specs-hungry software. You’ll still be able to use some programs such as simpler video editing tools and play some older games like “The Witcher 3” or “Fortnite” with some compromise in graphics and a little bit of performance. But for a more affordable laptop like the Huawei MateBook D15, this is impressive.
The D15 is well-built and sturdy. It’s an all-metal design that makes the D15 look more expensive than its actual price. Even after some use, the metal surface remains cool and comfortable. The keyboard is excellent to work and the trackpad is generous with space.
The right side of the D15 sports the headphone jack and two USB ports. The left side includes a third USB port, a USB-C port that can be used to charge the laptop, and the HMDI port.
If you have a tight budget and in need of a new laptop, look no further, and take another look at the Huawei MateBook D15.
