DAVAO CITY - The Davao City Emergency Central 911 has acquired two brand-new L39 Rosenbauer ladder trucks to boost its response to emergency situation.
Central 911 head Emmanuel Jaldon said the Roseanbauer ladder trucks will be used to rescue people trapped inside the buildings in case of disaster like fire incidents.
The ladder trucks are equipped to reach up to the 16th floor of a building. Each ladder truck can carry up to four people in case of aerial rescue operations.
Jaldon said the city decided to purchase the ladder truck after the huge fire that hit NCCC building along MacArthur Highway more than two years ago.
“That is one of the reasons . There are also other infrastructure developments in the city, our buildings are getting higher so we need to be equipped for any eventualities,” Jaldon said.
Jaldon emphasized the need to upgrade the equipment of central 911 due to the fast development of the city. He said another ladder truck, the same model and brand, is coming.
Austrian Embassy Commercial Counselor Christina Stieber, meanwhile, said the Rosenbauer is a well-known company in Austria and trusted in the fire truck and ladder industry.
“This is the first time that Davao City purchased equipment from Rosenbauer. This is equipped for the road networks of Davao City and can be very useful in case of rescue operations,” Stieber said.
He was in Davao City for the turnover of the two brand new Rosenbauer ladder trucks.
