Filipino sculptor Ben-Hur Villanueva has died. He was 81.
The news of Villanueva's passing was confirmed by his family through a Facebook post last Saturday.
Villanueva is known for his "Ang Supremo" sculpture in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig, the "Risen Christ" sculpture in Caleruega in Nasugbu, Batangas, and "Thy Will Be Done" sculpture inside the St. Paul University Quezon City campus. He was also an art professor at the Ateneo de Manila University.
Villanueva's remains are currently at Avelino “Boy” Santiago Homes in San Mateo, Rizal.
The interment will be on Saturday, February 1.
