Shabu-dealing family falls in Pasay City drug sting

By Jean Fernando Three family members included in the drug watchlist were arrested in a drug-sting operation conducted by the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of the Pasay City police the other day. Pasay City police chief Col. Bernard Yang identified the arrested suspects as Amelia Sioson, aka Melia, 70; Ricardo Cecilio, aka Ging-Ging, 59; and Richelle Cecilio, 32, all residents of Blk. 24, Lot 2, Twin Pioneer Extension, Barangay 187, Pasay City. Based on Yang’s report submitted to the Southern Police District (SPD), the arrest of the suspects was performed by the operatives of the SDEU at about 5:45 p.m. the other day at the suspects’ residence. According to Yang, SDEU head Capt. Deni Mari Pedrozo received information about the illegal activities of the prime suspect, Melia. When the information they received turned out to be positive, the operatives immediately set up the buy-bust operation that led to the arrest of the suspects. Confiscated from the suspects were 35 plastic sachets containing shabu (crystal methamphetamine) placed in a small plastic bag, weighing 37.8 grams with a street value of P250,000; a violet coin purse, a grey rectangular steel box, P1,800 cash, and the P500 buy-bust money. The recovered shabu was brought to the SPD Crime Laboratory for chemical analysis while the suspects, who are now detained at the SDEU’s custodial facility, are facing charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165 at the Pasay City prosecutor’s office.
