18 wanted persons arrested in Caraga region

RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City – Eighteen wanted persons were arrested in the all-out manhunt conducted by separate police units in Caraga region the past three days, police official reported Friday. “The arrest of these persons are clear indications that Caraga police vowed to account all wanted persons and arrest all other persons involved in criminal activities,” Maj. Renel E. Serrano, chief of Regional Public Information Office (RPIO) of Caraga Police Regional Office 13 (PRO 13) told The Manila Bulletin on Friday. “The arrests of these wanted persons were made through the warrant of arrests issued by local courts in Caraga region,” he added. PRO 13 Regional Director Brig. Gen. Joselito T. Esquivel Jr also attributed the continuing success of “Operation Manhunt Charlie” to the communities. “It is a clear proof that this regional office’s commitment in bringing closer ties to the community who continuously support our campaign against criminality was a success,” stressed the region’s top police official. Meanwhile, Col. Canilo Agua Fuentes, city director of Metro Butuan City Police Office (BCPO), also reported the arrest of five wanted persons in this region’s premier and capital city since early this week. “These wanted persons who were evading arrests the past months are now behind bars as BCPO steps up its series manhunt operations across the city,” the BCPO city director also told The Manila Bulletin on Friday. “Arrested suspects are now under the temporary custody of BCPO as they wait for their commitment orders,” Fuentes added.
