QC cops nab 9 drug suspects with over P270-K worth of shabu
Over P270,000 worth of shabu (crystal methamphetamine) was confiscated from nine drug suspects in separate anti-illegal drug operations in Quezon City on Wednesday.
Personnel of Quezon City Police District's (QCPD) Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) nabbed Jeffrey Dela Cruz, 34, of Caloocan City in a buy-bust operation in front of a food stand in Barangay San Jose.
Dela Cruz, who police said was a drug peddler in the area, yielded at least 10 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P68,000, resulting in his arrest.
In Barangay Baesa, anti-narcotic personnel of Talipapa Police Station (PS-3) arrested Jinky Falconite, 41; Norberto Santos, 48; Jessie Peñaflor, 40; and Jun Jun Magleo, 29, in a drug sting along NPC Mendez Road.
Probers said Falconite and Santos were included on the drug watchlist of Bgy. Baesa's anti-drug advisory council, while Peñaflor and Magleo are newly identified drug personalities of the village.
Authorities seized from them some 10 grams of shabu amounting to P68,000, the buy-bust money, and a mobile phone used in their drug deal.
In another drug bust, members of Novaliches Police Station (PS-4) Drug Enforcement Unit collared Khim John Cortel, 42, and his cohort Faye Verdol, 38, at the corner of Quirino Highway and Nitang Street in Bgy. Gulod. The duo yielded P68,000 worth of shabu.
Cortel has a previous robbery case while Verdol was previously jailed for illegal drugs.
Meanwhile, Batasan Police Station officers collared suspects Michael Rolle, 39, and Romnick Umali, 29, in another drug sting at No.5 Purok 3, Sineguelas Street, Bgy. Culiat after cops seized from them sachets of shabu worth at least P68,000.
The arrested suspects are now under police custody and will be facing charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.Â

Navotas narcs nab suspect with P40-K worth of shabu
Almost P40,000 worth of a substance suspected to be shabu (crystal methamphetamine) was seized from an alleged drug personality in a drug bust at Barangay San Roque, Navotas City Wednesday evening.
Police identified the suspect as Lerick Razon, 26, fisherman, and a resident of the area.
Personnel of the Navotas City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency conducted the buy-bust operation at about 10:30 p.m.
Razon was nabbed after selling a sachet of suspected shabu worth P300 to a poseur buyer. Retrieved from the suspect were 11 sachets of suspected shabu weighing about 5.8 grams with an estimated value of P39,440.
The seized pieces of evidence were brought to the Northern Police District Crime Laboratory Office in Caloocan for laboratory examination.
The arrested suspect will face charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Minka Klaudia Tiangco)
