The construction of the MRT-4 will begin in 2021 after the project got a green light from the National Economic and Development Authority's (NEDA) Investment Coordination Committee-Cabinet Committee on December 20, 2019.
Below are the proposed stations for the MRT-4:
* N. Domingo (near LRT-2 Gilmore Station)
* Col. Bonny Serrano
* Greenhills
* EDSA
* Meralco Ave.
* Rosario
* St. Joseph
* Cainta Junction
* Tikling Junction
* Manila East Road
* Taytay (Entry to Diversion Road)
The new railway system is expected to serve commuters living in the metro's east by 2025, according to the Department of Transportation (DOTr).
"Considering how densely populated these areas are, which is made more difficult with the lack of road capacities and ever-worsening traffic conditions, MRT-4 will be of great help in moving commuters between eastern Metro Manila and Rizal," Transport Secretary Arthur Tugade said.
MRT-4 will be 15.56 kilometers long and will have a budget of P 59.3 billion which will come from the Asian Development Bank.
