“We wish to inform you that soon, we will be phasing out our Champ burger in all Jollibee branches," Jollibee said in a statement.

The Filipino fast-food chain said that it is working on “big and exciting things this year” for its burger line.

Jollibee hinted that “there’s always a chance that old Jollibee’s classics might return in the future.”

The Champ burger was one of the original food items of Jollibee. It was launched in 1984, the same year a mascot named Champ joined the Jollibee Family, according to a report from CNN Philippines.

Reports also said that other than the Champ burger, a rice meal called Big Burger Steak will also be removed from Jollibee’s menu.
