Jollibee to phase out Champ burger from menu

By Andrea Aro  Jollibee announced on Thursday night that its famous 1/3 pounder Champ burger will be removed from its menu. The Champ burger was one of the original food items of Jollibee. The Filipino fast-food chain said that it is working on “big and exciting things this year” for its burger line. Jollibee hinted that “there’s always a chance that old Jollibee’s classics might return in the future.” The Champ burger was one of the original food items of Jollibee. It was launched in 1984, the same year a mascot named Champ joined the Jollibee Family, according to a report from CNN Philippines. Reports also said that other than the Champ burger, a rice meal called Big Burger Steak will also be removed from Jollibee’s menu.
