Jollibee announced on Thursday night that its famous 1/3 pounder Champ burger will be removed from its menu.

“We wish to inform you that soon, we will be phasing out our Champ burger in all Jollibee branches," Jollibee said in a statement.

The Filipino fast-food chain said that it is working on “big and exciting things this year” for its burger line. Jollibee hinted that “there’s always a chance that old Jollibee’s classics might return in the future.” The Champ burger was one of the original food items of Jollibee. It was launched in 1984, the same year a mascot named Champ joined the Jollibee Family, according to a report from CNN Philippines.
