Jollibee to phase out Champ burger from menu

(Flickr / MANILA BULLETIN) “We wish to inform you that soon, we will be phasing out our Champ burger in all Jollibee branches," Jollibee said in a statement. The Filipino fast-food chain said that it is working on “big and exciting things this year” for its burger line. Jollibee hinted that “there’s always a chance that old Jollibee’s classics might return in the future.” The Champ burger was one of the original food items of Jollibee. It was launched in 1984, the same year a mascot named Champ joined the Jollibee Family, according to a report from CNN Philippines. Reports also said that other than the Champ burger, a rice meal called Big Burger Steak will also be removed from Jollibee’s menu.
