BAGUIO CITY – About 30 flower vendors along Harrison Rd. will be transferred to a place near the Ganza parking area soon because their stalls have become an eyesore.

Mayor Benjamin Magalong said he ordered the City Engineering Office to improve the proposed area where the flower vendors will be relocated within two weeks.
Magalong said the area will be graveled to prevent the area from getting muddy.
City Engineer Edgar Victorio Olpindo said the area where the flower vendors will transfer can accommodate some 35 stalls.
“It is also important for the city government to provide the targeted flower vendors a decent relocation area where they can continue with their businesses,” Olpindo said.
The flower sellers on Harrison Rd. were displaced when the previous administration banned ambulant vendors in the public market and sidewalks around the city.
They were allowed to set up stalls on Harrison on condition that they keep the premises clean of the place and help beautify the fence of the Burnham Park which was constructed several years ago.
Magalong called on the flower to cooperate with efforts of the local government to put order right in the central business district area considering there is a place being offered where they can continue their lucrative trade as residents and tourists alike also patronize the sale of flowers in the city.
He expressed optimism the flower vendors will be satisfied with the relocation area offered them by the city government .
