Stanley Pringle, Japeth Aguilar and LA Tenorio knocked down big shots during a decisive stretch of the contest to gain fifth place with a 5-4 record while bouncing back from Friday’s 111-103 loss to Phoenix Pulse. In that game, Ginebra blew a 14-point lead then saw its fourth quarter comeback fall short when Brownlee scored 21 of the team’s 22 points in that period. Simpson produced 22 points and 22 rebounds while Chris Banchero’s career-high 29 points went for naught as the Aces fell to seventh spot at 4-5. Alaska rallied to take a 91-90 lead on Jvee Casio’s layup with 8:24 to go in the fourth. But Ginebra answered by producing a 13-4 run to gain a 103-95 lead courtesy of an Aguilar basket, five minutes to go. Empty possessions by Alaska eventually led to a Tenorio trey that made it 107-97 with 2:59 remaining.
