The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) has a new top police commander following a reshuffle of five senior police officials of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
Police Brig. Gen. Marni Marcos, Jr., will take over the leadership of the BARMM regional police effective Wednesday.
He replaced Police Brig. Gen. Graciano Mijares, who in turn, will now lead the position that he vacated, the Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG).
Police Brig. Gen. Froilan Quilla, was named as the new director of the Zamboanga Peninsula regional police, replacing Brig. Gen. Emmanuel Luis Licup who was named as the deputy director of the Directorate for Personnel Records and Management.
Police Col. Nelson Bermudez, on the other hand, will be the acting deputy regional director for Administration of the MIMAROPA (Mindoro Occidental and Oriental, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan) regional police.
PNP chief Gen. Oscar Albayalde said all the reshuffle took effect on Wednesday after he approved the recommendation made by the Senior Officers Placement and Promotion Board and Oversight Committee.
“The latest reorganization is prompted by the series of retirement of senior PNP officials this year, the two year maximum tenure in positions and the Performance Evaluation Rating that created vacancies that need to be filled to ensure continuity of command,” said Albayalde.
