DPWH opens newly-reconstructed Quirino Bridge 2

(ALI VICOY / MANILA BULLETIN) No less than DPWH Secretary Mark Villar led the opening of the bridge along Quirino Highway to motorists and riding public before the Holy Week. The Quirino Bridge, also known as Concordia Bridge, is 24-linear meter structure that forms part of Circumferential Road 2 connecting the cities of Manila, Pasay, and Makati to the central and eastern side of Metro Manila. “A six-lane Quirino Bridge II can now be used by motorists going in and out of southern part of Manila with the completion of three southbound lanes last October and now the three northbound lanes,” said Villar. The DPWH had to close the bridge's northbound lane to make way for its P58-million reconstruction last year. Its southbound was reconstructed from June to October 2018. Villar explained the reconstruction of the bridge's northbound lanes came to a halt during the Christmas season, but this was later completed by DM Consunji, Inc., the project contractor, last month.
