Robredo reminds public officials of importance of decency and respect

Kasi kaming public officials, dapat kami iyong halimbawa ng decency, kami iyong halimbawa ng pagbibigay ng respeto,” she said in a media interview in Sumilao, Bukidnon. They will not hide under my skirt),” she told reporters. “Iyong mga kandidato naman namin, kaya namang depensahan iyong sarili nila (Our candidates, they can defend themselves),” Robredo stressed. The Vice President emphasized the importance of decency and giving respect to others for anyone who holds public office. “Hindi rin siguro maganda kung halimbawa, ako, makipagpatulan ako.. So iyong sa akin lang, okay lang na sinasagot iyong mga issues, pero sa isang paraan na iyong respeto nandiyan pa rin, hindi personalan,” she said. Apart from the dormitory, the Vice President was in Sumilao for the distribution of carabaos, farm inputs and tools to support vegetable farmers from 10 barangays in the municipality. Sumilao is one of the 176 areas covered by her flagship anti-poverty program, Angat Buhay. Angat Buhay partner Rotary Club of Makati constructed the P1.2-million dormitory while the assistance for the farmers came from Robredo’s office, under its locally funded projects worth P1.9 million.
