Man seeking clearance served with warrant, arrested

By Dhel Nazario A man who tried to acquire a police clearance was arrested on Wednesday after police found out that he has a pending arrest warrant in Imus, Cavite. The man was identified as Marlon Ulep, 42, of Archer St., Southside, Barangay Palar, Makati City. Ulep was arrested by members of the Warrant Section of the Makati City Police. Rogelio Simon, Ulep was in the process of getting his police clearance at about 3:00 in the afternoon on Wednesday when he was arrested by the police. Ulep has a pending warrant of arrest for rape issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 21 Executive Judge Norberto J. Quisumbing Jr., in Imus, Cavite. The court of origin will be notified while he is detained. Simon said that the E-Warrant of Makati City Police Station, Southern Police District shares with the PNP's online database on those seeking police clearance certificates. It is a system to make it easier for the police to arrest criminals and vital in the preservation of peace and order in the community, he added.
