Former Sulu Vice Governor Nur-Ana Indanan Sahidulla and her husband, former Banguingui Mayor Abdulwahid Omar Sahidulla, decided to change their plea before the Sandiganbayan from not guilty to guilty in order to expedite the case.

The anti-graft court's Second Division meted them a sentence of a minimum of two months to one year and one day as maximum for their perjury charge, as well as a fine of P5,000 for their breach of conduct charge.
They were earlier charged for violation of Section 8 in relation to Section 11 of R.A. 6713 or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees and Article 183 of the Revised Penal Code due to the anomalies found in their 2009 Statement of Assets Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN).
The couple failed to declare under oath their ownership of a Toyota Hilux, a Mitsubishi L200 Strada, and a 1,500-square meter parcel of land located in Baliwasan, Zamboanga City.
In court proceedings in criminal cases, there are instances when an accused changes his or her plea from "not guilty" to "guilty." This is for them to avoid the rigors of court trial, particularly when the offense has a light penalty.
The prosecution did not interpose any objection, so the anti-graft court granted their motion and rendered judgment.
The five-page resolution was penned by Chairperson Oscar Herrera Jr. with the concurrence of Associate Justices Michael Frederick Musngi and Lorifel Pahimna.
