Gov't infra development strategy keys economic growth -- Nograles

The government is determined to pursue infrastructure development to spur economic growth and generate job opportunities for Filipinos, according to Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles.
At the groundbreaking of a new North Luzon Expressway interchange in Bulacan, Nograles affirmed that the government'"Build, Build, Build" program would usher in the golden age of infrastructure in the country.

"In President Rodrigo Duterte’s second State of the Nation Address in 2018, he said we will make the next few years the golden age of infrastructure in the Philippines to enhance our mobility and connectivity, and thereby spur development growth," he said.
"Since then, 'Build, Build, Build' has become synonymous with the Duterte Administration's efforts to boost infrastructure development," he added.
He said Build Build Build program involves "an ambitious plan to spend P8.4 trillion on numerous big-ticket infrastructure projects around the country that will accelerate growth and create an estimated 12 million new jobs during the President’s tenure."
Nograles also lauded the new expressway project connecting NLEX to the Philippine Arena in Bulacan as part of efforts to improve the country's infrastructure network.
The project involves the construction of a four-lane road connecting Manila North Road (MNR) and the Sta. Maria-Bocaue Road, bypassing the congested Governor F. Halili road.
"To all those involved in putting the Philippine Arena and Ciudad de Victoria on the map, and those responsible for paving the way to get there, congratulations,” he said.
"May the activity today serve as an example of what our nation and our people can achieve when we recognize that real progress is the product of cooperation, collaboration, and genuine partnership," he said.
Among the government officials present in the ceremony were Speaker Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar, and Bocaue Mayor Eleanor Villanueva-Tugna.
