Robredo looked back at those who were featured in the traveling INP photo exhibit in a video posted on her Facebook and Youtube accounts, where she answered 20 questions in three minutes to mark her three years in office.
She was asked about the first INP guest on her Sunday radio show, “BISErbisyong Leni.”
The Vice President said it was Lorna Tambaon, a widowed mother who was able to send her four children to school from selling turon.
Her three daughters went on to become a lawyer, teacher, and a nurse, while her youngest son was a part of the intarmed program of the University of the Philippine College of Medicine.
Robredo recalled the first INP gallery was launched in March 2017.
The Office of the Vice President initiated the INP project to feature success stories of ordinary people who have risen above adversities and are enduring sources of hope, inspiration, and motivation for other Filipinos.
Among those featured were in the localities of Quezon, Bacolod, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Dumaguete, Albay, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Palawan, and Cavite.
The others were in Sorsogon, Cebu, Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, Capiz, and Iloilo.
The Vice President also went to United States, Hong Kong Canada, Germany, Australia, and United Kingdom to promote success stories of overseas Filipino workers there.
For Robredo, the “most memorable” episode of her radio show was when she was in Hong Kong, with OFWs who were featured in her INP project.
The first story was about JP, who is a performer at Hong Kong Disneyland and is co-owner of GoGoBaon, a food delivery service specializing in affordable Filipino food.
The others were Manny, who founded Backstage Productions, the go-to sound system for Filipinos in Hong Kong, and Noemi, founder and chairman of Hong Kong-based umbrella organization of Filipino groups called Global Alliance.
Included were INP champs namely Melda Bustinera, Glady Ayo, Marieta Dizon, Melba Bumadilla, Virginia Vigo, Dioscoa Barbarona, Melody Sotero, Virginia Rosario, Natividad Arcega and Jalyn Navio, among others.
