BACOLOD CITY - Twenty-two passengers, including the driver and conductor of a passenger bus were injured after the vehicle allegedly fell in a canal at Purok Highway, Rafael Salas Drive in Barangay Balingasag, Bago City, Negros Occidental on Christmas day.
Maj. John Joel Batusbatusan, city police chief, said the bus was on its way to Canlaon City in Negros Oriental from here when bus driver Julio Talatag, 44, of Moises Padilla town, reportedly lost control of the vehicle until it fell into a canal.
Batusbatusan said all passengers sustained minor bruises and scratches and were brought to a hospital while the bus driver was placed under police custody.
Jade Seballos, media relations officer of the Vallacar Transit Inc. (VTI) said all passengers were provided with medical assistance and were all discharged.
