BACOLOD CITY – Policemen seized some P4,038,000 worth of suspected shabu in separate anti-illegal drug operations in Negros island from December 17 to 18.

Of the total figure, P1,958,000 worth of suspected shabu was confiscated in Bacolod City while P2,080,000 worth of the same contraband was seized in the two provinces of Negros.
One of the biggest operations was conducted in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental last Tuesday which resulted in the arrest of Giselle Diez, 22; and Kevin Jeff Santillan, 27, both identified as provincial level high value target.
Armed with a search warrant, personnel of the Provincial Intelligence Branch – Special Operations Group, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Dumaguete City Police Station, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) conducted the raid at Brgy. Camanjac.
Police recovered from them about 275 grams of suspected shabu worth P1,870,000, and drug paraphernalia. Both suspects are detained at the said police station.
The next day, Kimberly Berbor, 25, of Brgy. 30, was arrested in a buy-bust at Brgy. Pahanocoy here.
Maj. Charles Gever, head of Police Station 8, said Berbor is a high value target.
Police seized from her seven sachets of suspected shabu weighing 150 grams worth P1,800,000, and the P2,000 marked money. She is detained at the police station.
Last Tuesday, Elizabeth Galo, Raquel Cantiller, and Roberto Natividad were also arrested in a drug bust here after police confiscated from them six sachets of suspected shabu worth P150,000, the P2,000 marked money, and drug paraphernalia. All suspects are detained at Police Station 2.
In Negros Occidental, Alfredo Bustamante III, 40, of Himamaylan City was arrested in a buy-bust at Brgy. 2, Kabankalan City which resulted in the confiscation of eight sachets of suspected shabu worth P200,000, drug paraphernalia, and the P100 marked money, and P1,460 cash.
Three more persons, including a former village watchman were also arrested in drug busts here, and in the cities of Victorias and Cadiz in the said province last Tuesday.
