Police kills traffic enforcer in road accident

By Armando Fenequito  DAVAO CITY - A traffic enforcer of the City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) was killed Thursday afternoon after he was hit by a car driven by a police here. The Talomo Police Station identified the victim as Rey Sison, a resident of Deca Homes Cabantian while the police officer was identified as Lt. Julius A. Edpalina, 42, currently under training at the Regional Training Center 11. According to a police report, Sison was conducting an investigation on a vehicular accident around 4:00 p.m. along the bypass road in Barangay Maa. The victim was standing at the center of the double yellow lane while making a rough sketch of the incident, when the car driven by Edpalina suddenly swerved to the opposite lane hitting Sison. Due to force of the impact, Sison was thrown towards the left side rear edge portion of the vehicle that he was investigating causing his death. Edpalina submitted himself to police custody.
