‘Omegle’ emerges as ‘top trending search’ among Filipinos in 2019

The search engine said Filipinos also searched for "MemoryHackers," "Codashop," "Idol Philippines vote," and "Thanos," the most this year, ranking second to fifth in the list, respectively. Other searches in the top 10 were "NBA standings 2019" on 6th place, "Halalan 2019" on 7th, "Eddie Garcia" on 8th, "Pacquiao vs Broner" on 9th, and "Memories lyrics" on 10th. Google also released the list of Filipino's "Top Trending Searches" under the following categories: News, Female and Male Personalities, Dogs, Events, How To, Losses, Movies, Songs and Lyrics, and TV Shows. This year, Filipinos were most interested in knowing the latest news on the May 2019 National and Local Elections, followed by the results of the March 2019 Licensure Examination for Teachers, and earthquakes occurring in the country on a daily. 'Entertainment trends' New Darna Jane de Leon and the first Filipino boy group trained by a Korean entertainment company SB19 ranked first in the list of top searched female and male personalities. This year, the entertainment industry lost some of its greats, including Eddie Garcia, who Filipinos expressed concern on the most on the web. In music, Filipinos wanted to know the lyrics to Maroon 5's "Memories" the most in 2019. For TV shows, Filipinos showed most interest in local talent competitions like Idol Philippines (No.1), Starstruck (No.2), and The Voice Kids (No.7). Aside from reigning in the box office, "Avengers: End Game” also ruled Filipinos' top searches for movies.
