Isuzu Philippine Corporation (IPC), the country’s leading manufacturer and distributor of brand-new trucks, has debuted its newest lightweight truck, the all-new Isuzu Traviz.
In his speech, IPC President Hajime Koso stated that the Isuzu Traviz answers the three most pressing and current customer needs, based on detailed market surveys and IPC’s extensive on-the-ground experience in the Philippines.

“The all-new Isuzu Traviz continues our tradition of providing not just reliable products but business solutions — reasons why, in the Philippines, Isuzu has been at the number one spot for more than 19 years,” he added.
The Isuzu Traviz hopes to answer any large manufacturers’ needs for reliable trucks for “last mile” deliveries of items to retail stores, or door-to-door deliveries for Small to Medium Enterprises, rising business owners, and even as transportation solutions in conjunction with the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization program.

The Isuzu Traviz gets its name from the words “transport, trading, and transcend”, combined with the shortened term for business – “biz”. Its design concept combines the best qualities of Japan’s best-selling truck (hexapod design, fuel-efficiency, capacity, rigidity) with the flexibility and stability of Isuzu pickups in order to produce two variants: the Traviz S (Short Wheel Base), and the Traviz L (Long Wheel Base).
The Isuzu Traviz is powered by a Euro-4 rated 4JA1 2.5-liter Direct Injection common-rail Blue Power diesel engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission. If it seems like a familiar pairing, that’s because it’s the same powertrain used in the ever-popular Isuzu Crosswind AUV. The Isuzu Traviz is rated to carry up to 1.6 tons of payload, which is the heaviest in the lightweight truck category.

Ideal for those in food businesses, utility companies, cargo and logistics, transport and delivery services, and in open load use in agriculture and construction, the Isuzu Traviz also offers several advantages in terms of interior cab space, engine brake performance, maneuverability, and strong after sales support. Its 4.5 meter turning radius is also the shortest in its class, making it easy for its drivers to maneuver in tight spaces even while carrying heavy loads. In addition, the Isuzu Traviz offers a wide cabin with improved legroom, and a more ergonomic driving position.
The all-new Traviz is currently produced in Isuzu’s assembly facilities in Indonesia, where the Traviz (locally named as Traga) has enjoyed up to 46-percent share of the market segment within a year of its introduction.
The Isuzu Traviz comes with a three-year or 100,000 kilometer warranty, which ever comes first.
