Maj. Gen. Roberto Fajardo, director of the PNP-Civil Security Group (CSG), said the move is to ease the burden of security guards in getting the License to Exercise Security Profession (LESP) for their job in terms of transportation and other expenses in going to police camps.

“I know exactly the daily sacrifices of our brothers and sisters in the security profession just to secure a genuine license card from authorities. With this project, we hope that we are able to ease their burden,” said Fajardo.

Fajardo said that the online application system also promises to address the problem of congestion at Camp Crame, as well as to deny fixers the opportunity to prey on security guards.

Brig. Gen. Samuel Rodriguez of the Directorate for Information and Communications Technology (DICTM), said the online application was simplified for better understanding of applicants.

The applicant will have to submit all the needed requirements through a system developed by the PNP’s Information Technology Management Service or ITMS. They could do the online application in their homes and even the nearest internet shops near their homes or establishments where they work.

“The applicant is the only one who has access to his/her personal information. They just need to scan the documents and through the system, the head office, through its database, will see if the requirements are complete or if the document is fake,” said Rodriguez.

As part of the requirements, the applicant needs to have an e-mail address as part of the verification process.

The online application, Fajardo said, is through the website of the Supervisory Office for Security and Investigation Agencies (SOSIA), or sosia.com.ph,

The entire application process can be verified and processed within 24 hours, according to Rodriguez.

Fajardo said that the online application is also an anti-corruption measure as it seeks to limit interaction between applicants and PNP personnel, the time when corruption usually occurs.
