Sorsogon has new provincial DAR building

By Erma Edera The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has recently completed the P14.3-million Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) building in Sorsogon, according to DPWH Secretary Mark Villar. Photo by DPWH/ MANILA BULLETIN Photo by DPWH/ MANILA BULLETIN The 375-square meter building for DAR is now ready for use by department personnel in providing agrarian reform services to locals and residents of neighboring communities. The newly-constructed building is located in the City Hall Compound in Barangay Cabid-an, Sorsogon City. The DAR office used to be located at Alegre Street, Barangay Balogo, East District, Sorsogon City. “This new building of DAR will help in fast-tracking all transactions between the government and our farmers,” Secretary Villar said. The structure is a two-storey main building which houses the offices of top officials in DAR Provincial Office as well as offices for records, general services, supplies, storage, comfort rooms, and reception area on the ground floor. On the other hand, the planning area, conference room, cashier, bids and awards committee and other offices are located on the second floor of the building. The new DAR building was funded under the 2018 General Appropriations Act.
