Man found dead with gunshot wounds at Navotas Fish Port

A man was found dead with gunshot wounds in a fishing vessel docked at the Navotas Fish Port Complex at Barangay North Bay Boulevard North Saturday morning.

In a report reaching the Northern Police District Public Information Office on Sunday, police identified the victim as Rene Liman, 39, fisherman, resident of the area.

A certain Roger Gipitan, 53, resident of the area, told the police that at about 8 a.m., he saw the victim bloody and kneeling inside the pilot house of the Dan Israel Fishing Vessel, that is owned by Danny Ang, who ran against Navotas City Mayor Toby Tiangco for the mayoralty post in the May 2019 elections.

Investigation showed that Liman was an employee of the said fishing vessel.

Police have yet to find a motive for the killing.

The victim's body was brought to Eusebio Funeral Homes for an autopsy examination.

Man nabbed during pot session in Pasay City

A man, who was included in the city’s illegal drugs watch list, was arrested after he was caught in a drug session in Pasay City on Saturday.

The suspect was identified as Jeremy Lumanlan. He was arrested after a report from a concerned citizen.

Investigation showed that the suspect was arrested at around 2 p.m. at Primero De Mayo St., Brgy. 91, Pasay City.

Police said that at around 1:55 in the afternoon, a concerned citizen personally went to the Libertad police precinct and reported that there was an ongoing drug session at a barracks located on Primero De Mayo Street.

Police officers were immediately dispatched and conducted a raid that resulted in the arrest of the suspect.

They recovered one small heat-sealed plastic transparent sachet containing suspected "shabu" with an estimated weight of more or less 0.09 grams.

The suspect was then brought to the Station Drug Enforcement Unit of the Pasay City Police for proper disposition. (Dhel Nazario)
