In an effort to promote widespread devotion to Mary Queen of Peace Our Lady of EDSA and peace throughout the land, the EDSA Shrine (Shrine of Mary, Queen of Peace, Our Lady of EDSA) through its rector Rev. Fr. Lazaro Abaco, launched recently a project called “Marian Dove, Fly!” - Lakbay Dalangin under the program Oasis of Peace.
Under the project, Fr. Abaco, together with the EDSA Shrine’s Family and Life Ministry, the Pastoral Council, and the 9-colors of Peace Liturgical Dancers and a number of EDSA Shrine pilgrims will visit churches around the country, leaving a replica image of Mary, Queen of Peace, Our Lady of EDSA.
The Marian Dove, Fly! group recently visited three churches in the Archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan in Pangasinan. Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Socrates B. Villegas officiated the holy mass at the St. John the Evangelist Cathedral. He encouraged the faithful to be “peacemakers.”
“People who cannot be trusted cannot be peacemakers, in the same way that people who are trustworthy, no matter how little work you do, will always continue to please God in great marvelous ways,” Villegas said in his homily.
Organizers said, the Marian Dove, Fly! project has visited 34 churches from the archdiocese and dioceses of Manila, Lingayen-Dagupan, Bataan, Antipolo, Paranaque, and Laguna.
November 17, the Marian Dove, Fly! group visited the parishes of Nuestra Senora de Guia in Ermita, Manila for the 12 noon mass, and St. Vicent de Paul Parish in San Marcelino, Manila for the 5 p.m. mass.
