DPWH starts building IAS building

Construction of a four-storey building that will serve as the new Internal Affairs Service (IAS) building for the Philippine National Police (PNP) is now under way, Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar said.

Villar, who led the ground breaking ceremony of the building on Friday said the building will be constructed "to provide a decent workplace for IAS personnel who are in-charge of investigating erring police officers which since its creation in 1998 has not occupied a permanent office."

The project involves the construction of a four-storey building with the provision of a reception area and parking space in the ground floor.

The P120-million building will be built inside Camp Crame in Quezon City.

“Upon completion, this building will end the constant cycle of transferring from one office to another and give the IAS staff occupying uniformed and non-uniformed positions more time to focus on handling all the administrative cases involving rouge members of the Philippine police force,” Villar said.

The construction of the office building is expected to be completed by the last quarter of 2020. It is funded under DPWH’s 2019 General Appropriations Act.
