Manila architects propose designs for modern Lagusnilad underpass

By Erma Edera  The United Architects of the Philippines-Manila Corinthian chapter has proposed designs for a modern Lagusnilad underpass to highlight the heritage and culture of the nation's capital. It is the underpass located right in front of the Manila City hall. The proposed underpass seeks to "reflect the direction of the new leadership in the revitalization of a city that deserves a world-class facility for a humble but vital service of the pedestrian passage connecting “the different key destinations in the heart of the city." “Most of the leading cities worldwide are embracing internationalization and global standards, opening to new methods and technologies while maintaining to push their local identity,” the chapter said. The project will be a collaboration for the city of Manila by Manila CPDO (City Planning and Development Office) through the United Architects of the Philippines.
