It provides us with a good opportunity to get involved and be able to contribute,” Villar said.
She also commended the activity and emphasized the need to take action to prevent further degradation in the coastal areas.
Fernando also sought the help and support of Bulakenyos to achieve the desired outcome of the rehabilitation.
At kayo bilang mamamayan ng Pilipinas, kayo ang katuwang namin,” the governor said.
Department of the Interior and Local Government-Region 3 Director Julie J. Daquioag also launched the “Disiplina Muna” campaign in relation to maintaining a clean environment and highlighted the importance of self-discipline.
Magsimula tayo sa ating sarili, follow the rules, follow the waste segregation,” Daquioag said.
Top runners for each category were also recognized after the fun run and each winner received a trophy, medal, and cash prize. The 3K U-turn runs male winners were Jerome Comanda, Jovie Villadanas, Alexandro Luciano, and Aries Lucero. The winning female runners were Cherie Anne Nulledo, Kesha Maramba, and Renelyn Oquiño.
