Manila Mayor Isko is Philcoman management awardee


The Philippine Council of Management (Philcoman), one of the country’s oldests non-profit, non-political organizations in the country, has chosen Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso as The Management Man of the Year awardee for 2019-2020.

Philcoman’s board of judges picked Moreno based on the criteria set forth by its Board of Trustees for outstanding achievements and distinguished track records in leadership, governance, education and innovations in sociology, health, sanitation, economics, politics, environment, transportation, e-commerce, entrepreneurship, business planning and strategic management.

Mayor Moreno started early in politics and became the youngest ever elected City Councilor, the youngest ever elected City Vice Mayor and the youngest ever elected as Mayor of the City of Manila. He is the 27th Mayor of Manila.
His vibrant transformation story has captivated the imagination of many people in the country, business leaders and foreign diplomats. US Ambassador Sung Kim described him “The total Rockstar.”

Mayor Moreno served as the Manila Vice Mayor for 9 years and was already a member of the Sangguniang Panlungsod while he was only 23 years old. He finished his 3 terms as Councilor.

Mayor Isko pursued and nourished his unwavering passion for learning. Not only does he read books about great world leaders, but also appreciates the value of research and think tanks. In 2012, he attended the Executive Education Program at John F. Kennedy School of Government in Harvard University. A year later, he finished the Emerging Leaders Executive Program, also in JFK School of Government in Harvard University.
