Brig. Gen. Rolando Anduyan has been named as the regional director of Northern Mindanao regional police in a minor revamp caused by the suspension of a police general over a graft case.
Philippine National Police (MANILA BULLETIN)
Lt. Gen. Archie Gamboa, officer-in-charge of the Philippine National Police (PNP), said that Anduyan will be replaced by Brig. Gen. Ronaldo Ylagan as the director of the Northern Mindanao regional police.
The position that would be vacated by Ylagan, Chief Regional Staff of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), will be taken over by Col. Pepito Macerin.
“This move sustains our campaign to reform the entire organization, as well as our drive against illegal drugs, criminality, and lawless violence,” said Gamboa.
The appointment of Anduyan came after Brig. Gen. Rafael Santiago was meted a six month-suspension by the Office of the Ombudsman for a graft case filed in 2012.
The PNP leadership received the suspension order on October 21.
Santiago, a members of Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class 198, was appointed as regional director despite having graft charges.
The PMA Class 1986 is dubbed as the current ruling class at the PNP. Among its members are former PNP chief and now Sen. Ronald ‘Bato” dela Rosa, resigned PNP chief Oscar Albayalde, and the two top officials of the police organization.
Gamboa said the latest rounds of reorganization occupying key positions are part of the continuing reform under his watch as the Officer-in-Charge of PNP.
