UP Visayas dominates Fisheries Technologist Licensure Exam

By Gabriela Baron UP Visayas dominated the October 2019 Fisheries Technologist board exam with 105 out of 109 passers or a passing rate of 96.33 percent.

(PIXABAY / PRC / MANILA BULLETIN) The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced that 731 out of 2,101 passed the licensure exam. UPV's Gardel Xyza Libunao topped the board exam with a rating of 89 percent. " truly grateful po kay (to the) Lord for His unexpected blessing and grace," said Libunao. The topnotcher added that she is happy for her alma mater and her fellow schoolmates. "Happy that we were able to uphold honor and excellence in the field of Fisheries," she ended. Iloilo State College of Fisheries (ISCOF)'s Rico Ian Descutido Ong and Robinson Amihan Jr. came second and third with 87.75 percent and 86.25 percent, respectively. Other UPV graduates who landed in the top 10 are Whelver Surnido (4th, 86 percent), Kim John Balboa (5th, 85.75 percent), Thereze Pauline Capaque, Josette Emlen Genio, Amethyl Pernito, and Isidro Tanangonan (8th, 84.75 percent), Rhiannen Marie Licera and Karl Angelo Tenizo (9th, 84.50 percent); and Therese Javellana and Fedelia Flor Mero (10th, 84.25 percent). The exam was administered by the Board of Fisheries in Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, and Zamboanga this October 2019.
