MALOLOS CITY, Bulacan—Outstanding cooperatives in the province were given recognition during the “Gawad Galing Kooperatiba” held at Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in this city recently.
Cooperative Development Authority Regional Director Marrieta Hwang, who represented CDA Chairperson Orlando Ravanera, said that CDA supports the bill claiming that Bulacan is the cooperative capital of the Philippines.
Gov. Daniel R. Fernando acknowledged the efforts of the cooperatives and lauded their contribution in boosting the economy of the province.
The awardees include Palayan sa Nayon Multipurpose Cooperative of Malolos in the Large Scale category; the Pananaw Sandigan Multi-Purpose Cooperative of Pandi in the Medium Scale Category; and the Silangan Multi-Purpose Cooperative of Santa Maria in the Small Scale category.
The Municipal Cooperative Development Council of Marilao received the Gawad Galing Coop Council Award; the San Isidro-San Roque Credit Cooperative of the Meycauayan City was given the Gawad Galing Kooperatiba- Medium Scale Category Trailblazing Award; and the Malolos Cooperative Development Council the Gawad Galing Coop Council-Trailblazing Award.
Special citations were given to the Minuyan Family Development and Multipurpose Cooperative from San Jose del Monte City for increasing its share capital; Samahang Mare at Pare Multi-Purpose Cooperative also from the San Juan del Monte for increasing its savings; Municipal Employees of Norzagaray Multipurpose Cooperative for increasing its net surplus; and the PASCHAL Multipurpose Cooperative of Pandi for increasing its membership.
The Special Awards for the Golden Foundation Anniversary were given to Sto. Rosario Credit and Development Cooperative of Malolos and to St. Martin of Tours Credit and Development Coop of Bocaue.
Rafael Dela Rama of the Palayan sa Nayon Multipurpose Cooperative thanked the organizers of the event and said that such recognitions inspire cooperative leaders to better serve their members and community.
