“In this time of difficulty in our society, we seek the guidance and light of God through the intercession of St. Jude Thaddeus. Let the station be the instrument of Christ to unite our prayers for the accomplishments of our hard work and sacrifices,” said Radio Veritas President Fr. Anton Pascual.
The faith-based station will celebrate the Feast of St. Jude Thaddaeus, which coincides with the Feast of Saint Simon the Zealot, two of the apostles of Jesus, on October 28 to 29. Devotees are invited to visit and pray before his image and relic from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The brother of another apostle, St. James the Less,, St. Jude traveled throughout Mesopotamia, Libya, Egypt, and Persia (Iran) with St. Simon to preach. He died a martyr’s death for his unwavering faith. His body was later brought to Rome and placed in a crypt under St. Peter’s Basilica.
In the country, the Archdiocesan Shrine of St. Jude in Manila is frequented by devotees asking for favors particularly during the Thursday novena. On October 28, on his feast day, Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle will celebrate a holy mass in his honor at the shrine at 5:30 p.m.
